  • Rear Disc Brake Tool

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know of a good/cheap Rear Piston Windback tool to fit the MKIV GTI?

Or does anyone know if those 6 side cube things will? Similar to this Stanley Rear Disc Brake Piston Tool - Supercheap Auto Australia

That stanley tool wont work as the pins on it are too close together. Just use a pair of decent needle nose pliers and some elbow grease.

Yes the cube thing works, you have to use the side with 4 pins, but cut 2 pins off, 2 secs on a grinder.
You also need something to apply pressure.
If you need it today get the cube, otherwise get a proper kit. The cube thing with a clamp can be a PITA.

Rear calipers on Golfs are special, they require a tool that compresses the piston back into the bore whilst also being rotated.

When the kit arrives, from memory, adaptor D is the one to use on the rears
