So first off, as the title says these are just plans. I've got *some* cash to back it up, but we'll see how far that can stretch. Nothing's set in stone and i'm pretty open to any real suggestions.
Right now I've got a completely stock '02 gti, and the plan (as ambitious as it may be) is to get a GT28RS and revo gt28rs tune on it. I guess first thing would be, is the gt28rs tune available for australian cars? I gave peak performance a quick call and they sounded like it was all good, but i'm yet to come across someone who's running one to know for sure. The only reason I'm looking at the gt28rs is that it'll only be about a thousand more than if i were to go for a k04 or ft setup (after costing in all the supporting mods).
If that's all well and good, the rest of it is down to a matter of parts. I'll be grabbing a gt28rs kit from atpturbo.com as well as new rods from ie. I'll also be grabbing a clutch kit from ECS tuning as well as any other necessary parts. The question is, what else will I need? I've also got planned (as per revo):
New injectors (550cc)
42DD 3" DP
Maf off of a TT or a new one through ECS
New TIP
Some kind of front mount, i haven't thought too much about this yet so any recommendations would be good, although I am looking at an ebay Godspeed.
I guess along with that it's recommended to get:
a highflow fuel pump
new engine mounts
is there anything else i should be looking at? mainly little bits and pieces that aren't generally mentioned (bushes, bearings, mounts, etc.)
I'm hoping to keep the stock airbox while replacing the existing intake piping with 3", although from the sounds of it, i think i'll be limited to running a cai which i'd rather not.
Any other tips/suggestions would be appreciated, it's coming up time to replace the timing belt so I was thinking of trying to do this in one hit, if not at least the clutch, mounts and tb.
other additions to this before hand would just be some coilovers and putting on some 17"'s.
