thanks in advance
FK's are too harsh? Try Hot Tunings!
from what I know Weitecs are basically re-badged KW's. From my experience KW's ride nice and plush!
Get a hold of Lorenz or evorobin from Slammed Distribution

Also it may be your "low profile" tyres that give a harsh ride.
Yeah, I just changed from 16 inch wheels with 55 profile tyres to 17 inch wheels with 45 profile and the change was instantly noticeable. I'm actually really glad now that I didn't go with my initial plan of 18 inch wheels.
IMO, Weitec Hicon GT is best value for money coilover, it's not as cheap as hottuning crapies, and won't break your bank account as KW does. I have it in my Mk2 and I love it.
Maybe contact Preen59 about his KW group buy - the V1s are basically the same as the Hicon GT but with better finish although there is a post from DPM Performance saying that the KW has better internals - 6th post here. And if you look at the link in the above post, DPM has the KW V1 Basic at only 40 pounds more than the Weitec Hicon GT.
Indeed there was and if you look closely, the OP of this thread was the last poster in that previous thread.
He is after more specific information than what was being discussed in that thread, plus it died off so I can fully understand starting another thread.
Back on topic, how much adjustment do you need, Njay? A good cup kit could give better results for the same money.
Resident grumpy old fart VW - Metallic Paint, Radial Tyres, Laminated Windscreen, Electric Windows, VW Alloy Wheels, Variable Geometry Exhaust Driven Supercharger, Direct Unit Fuel Injection, Adiabatic Ignition, MacPherson Struts front, Torsion Beam rear, Coil Springs, Hydraulic Dampers, Front Anti-Roll Bar, Disc Brakes, Bosch ECU, ABS
the fk coilovers provided awesome handling and i was happy with the stance
i just couldn't take the ride quality, everything would shake in my car. When i told audvolks they told me they can do a good price on weitec which a suppose to much better ride quality it just that no-one has them on there cars
I'm running Weitec Hicon GTs in my Mk1 GLD. Love them.
I have KW V1s in my Caddy and have been running them for 3 years now. Really, really happy with them. There is essentially no difference between the V1 Basic and the Weitec Hicon GT internally. But they are better value for money, so I recommend them over the KW Basic range.
It's the twin-tube dampers that provide the softer ride, while still being very firm in a corner. I only recommend and sell them because I believe they are the best on the market.
Weitecs come with 2yrs, 40,000km warranty and the KWs come with 2yrs, unlimited km warranty. So that's the only advantage to buying the KW basic.
If there is ANY problem with the kits I sell, the problems are attended to locally. My supplier can repair and service all of the KW range locally.
Email me and I'll hook you up with more info if you are interested, dude.
