Bora 3rd brake light not working

The 3rd brake light on our 2005 Bora is only working very faintly. Should I be looking for a wiring problem, or is it pretty much on its way out.

If it needs to be replaced, is there any place that I should look at first to get one, or should I just go to the dealer?

Check for 12v supply to it and a good earth. If it has both then you will need a new unit as you cant replace the globes seperately.

That is what I suspected. I was wondering if this may not have been uncommon. Sounds like it is.

Well, my wife was in Brisbane at my daughter's place on the weekend with the Bora, so I couldn't have a look, so my wife now has it in at John Oxley Motors (our VW dealer in Port Macquarie) to get a new one fitted.
