Speaker size. 2001 Mk4 Golf GLE.

Hi All,
I picked up a 2001 Golf last week and the stock stereo sounds alright but I'm going to replace the head unit so I thought while I was at it I might put in some new front speakers.

I've looked and looked but I can't seem to find out how big the speakers are. They look to me to be 6 inch or 6.5 inch splits but I don't want to buy some and then find out they are the wrong size.

im pretty sure 6 and 6.5 are the same.. both fit

I would amp the fronts (Just a small amp), to make a worthwhile difference and probably Sound deaden the doors.
