  • Removing drive by wire in a 2001 beetle

Has anyone successfully changed a beetle to cable throttle instead of drive by wire? How did you do it. Thanks

If it has ESP you won't be able to change it as the throttle control is part of that system.

Otherwise, in any case, the pedal assembly/throttle body/ECU at the very minimum.
PM if you are looking for: R32 rear sway bar; R32 suspension springs; Euro Headlight switches

That's stupid. Does anyone make a throttle control unit that gets rid of the lag? It opens and closes too slowly.

I have tried to contact him. It's not easy to get hold of him. I've been waiting over a week for a quote for a timing belt

Have you tried calling or just shot him a PM? If you call you'll prob get onto him a lot quicker than by PM because he might not come on too often.

I think putting in a 1.8 litre from a MK3 would get you what you're looking for.
