  • instaling ECS poly front control arm bushings

Gents picked up a set of these.
    Volkswagen R32 MKIV 3.2 > Suspension > Bushings > ES#5387 Polyurethane Front Control Arm Bushing Kit - ECSTTR32CABK
Got a press and pressed out the rear bushing of the front control arm and was installing the new ECS poly bushing followed the Ebahn directions as which way to press the bushings in and while pressing the new poly bushing in the outer ring tore off and I used the lube that was provided.
Just wondering if any one else has had problems with these bushing or getting them installed or did they have a shop install them.

I fitted some years ago in my A3. They were a different colour, not sure that is significant though. Anyway, I didn't have a press I just had a Camry........

I lubricated the bushes and dropped a front wheel from the Camry onto the bush and arm. No problems with damaging the bush on the way in.

I did make sure that the edges of the hole in the arm weren't sharp. I just took a file to them.
