  • golf 1.6 hops somtimes when driving

    hi everyone,
just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, when driving sometimes my car feels like it is pulsating, the revs dont move but the car tends to feel like it slows down for a split second the goes again. It doesnt do it all the time tho, almost like the clutch is engaging and dis-engaging. ive taken it to the vw dealer and it wont play up for them and they keep charging $120 everytime to look at it.
    Any ideas?

has it been scanned? Faults logged?
I remember i had big power flat spots before i replaced my first MAF. Put your foot down to pull out into traffic and there'd be ext to no acceleration for a second or two.
Just looked at your footer, how long have you had the pod in for?

i've taken the pod out and put in a k&n panel filter now. I can pull out into traffic fine with no flat spots but sometimes just sitting on 60kmh it will play up. The clutch is only 12months old and so is the new gear box

i think it might be an electrical problem cos when it plays up if i turn it off for a few mins and turn it back on again it stops playing up. its been scanned by vw but they cant find anything wrong. Ive heard it could be the maf sensor?

It could be the MAF. I killed mine with a pod filter. Euro cars really dont like them
dont put it back on, its not really helping, its sucking hot air from the engine bay
