bora boot wont close

Hi all

Discovered this morning my boot wont close on a 2002 bora. Seems to me the mechanism to keep the boot closed is gone. Actuator is still ok, as i can still open the car through the key in the boot. Am i to assume right?? anyone else have this issue??

I had the same problem with my 02 Passat, it got to the point even the key wouldnt open it.
Not sure about the Bora, but if you peel back the boot liner you can find the mechanism. The mechanism on mine was simple to get to, found a small plastic part had broken.
Matt from Camden GTI got me a second hand one which worked perfect.

thanks brett. got it fixed, turned out to be one of the little springs broke. got a another lock and all is good.
