  • i'm a noob, need help with my 2002 Golf

So I have a Golf 2002 1.6L SE and the glove box handle has broken. I looked at ECS Tuning for a replacement glove box and found this,

    Volkswagen Golf IV 1.8T > Search > Glove Box > ES#3359 Glove Box Lid-Satin Black (A94) - 1J1880882DA94

looks to be the right model. Can anyone confirm? Also is it easy to replace a glove box??

Lastly I was looking at replacing my wipers and saw the BOSCH AERO wiper blades but it says it's only for cars with OEM aero wipers which I do not have (I think they are on the later MKIV models). So i assume I can't use these. However, I was wondering if I could use the BOSCH ICON or EVOLUTION wipers?

I understand it says fit for all MKIV models but still unsure as MKIV ranges from 1997 - 2005 and the structure of Golfs changes over that time period.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Looks like the curve on that glovebox might be for a LH drive car - might pay you to check with ECS before you order it or see if you can source something through a wreckers locally - maybe try wanted to buy under the Classifieds section.

    Best wishes.

To do the glovebox you have to remove the centre console, lh dash cover trim and then the unit should cone out..to fit aero wiper heads you need the aero wiper arms

Not really the glove box is easy to change without removing the centre console. Its just undo the 6 torx screws and pull towards yourself and it comes out.

Be sure to tell them you're in Australia (and thus a RHD market).
            Nothing to see here...

That's a LHD glovebox, you need a RHD one.

                looks like this:
Golf MK4 Daily, Nissan Skyline R32 Weekender, Nissan Cefiro A31 Family, Nissan 200SX S14 Racecar

There are more than 6 torx screws to undo.
There is one on the far right down toward the floor on the side of the centre tunnel. You have to remove the lower section to get to the screw.
In the photo above the tab has been broken off.
                  MK4 GTI - Sold
                  MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold

Have you tried to buy the handle/lock. On my mk3.5 Cabrio, I was surpised to find it available as a seperate item for a very reasonable $20 from the local VW dealer
