    About to put a new intake system in and the two sensors or whatever they are on the back of the air box. What do I do with them when I take the box out?

    Huh? What two sensors, what car is this for? The only sensors you should have (i think) are the MAF which is the big circle just after the air box which needs to be kept and most after market systems will keep.

      Yeah I know where he Maf is and he system keeps that. It's a 1.8t mk4. There are two sensors thAt clip on the back of the airbox. I am at work and can't check, but I'm sure I saw them!

        just attach them to somewhere metal so it keeps the heatsink on the back cool

          Its part of the ignition system and you need it for the car to run ...the reason on its factory location is to keep it cool.
          Im about to relocate mine and was going to use and old heat sink out of a pc processor as it seems to be a good size
          They are expensive to replace so you dont want to cut any corners.

            For such an important electrical part its not that expensive

              people seem to suggest this but i disagree. yes metal has a better thermal conductivity than air, but the metal in the engine bay gets hot.
              so if you choose a bad bit of metal to attach it to, your heat transfer is gonna be going the wrong way!

              I say give it some cool airflow so that it is working just like it does in the stock air box.

                  well there's not a whole lot of air going past, at least not cool air, as you have the engine and turbo there which heat up the engine bay including the air. if you could work it back into the air intake that would be ideal. Otherwise a small 1 inch pipe running from the front of the car to give it some cool air, but maybe a bit too much hassle, dunno

                    I cable tied mine on a bracket behind the MAF. Has worked fine so far...
