I dont get it, why write it off if it needs paint? There must be something big thats wrong with it, probably gone swimming, as people have said

i know this owner. he got a full pay out from insurance.

he unfortunately fell asleep at the wheel. he is ok and suffered no injuries.

car really doesn't look too bad at all. would be a nice and fun project to carry out.

As dodgy as auctions can be, Pickles advise if its had fresh or salt water damage.
Dents and paint is all they need to write off a car these days. Might be different if the accident was after 31 October since that was the cut-off date for repaiable write offs, meaning auctions could only sell it as a stat w/o and they (the ins co) wouldn't get as much money from auction.
