Mk 4 exhaust systems?

Hey,

Just wanting to know some info about exhausts and if anyone knows of some good paackages! i dont want my golf to sound sstupid loud but i wouldnt mind a straight 2" system or 2.5" just to finish it off. if anyone could shed some light on what some of my options are that would be appreciated!

There are so many threads on this it's not funny! Try the search function at the top right of the page.

But alas, you will have one group of people on here that will tell you to get something along the lines of a Billy Boat 2.5" Catback from somewhere like ECS Tuning, though potentially too "stupid loud", but everyone has a different opinion on what is 'loud' so it's not much use asking, really you need to find someone who has that setup and go for a ride. You'll have another group that will say don't buy from overseas, go and get something made up custom.
Perhaps if you want a little more sound just replace the rear muffler with a Remus or Magnaflow, JUST DONT PUT A CANNON ON IT!!!

I've got a custom 2.25" setup up from Glenroy Exhausts here in VIC, and a Magnaflow rear muffler. Sounds the sex! Mine's a 1.8 though!
