  • Rear fog light question

    Hey guys,

Just wondering; does everybody's rear fog lights work on both sides?

My car seems a bit weird. Driver's side, bottom right light comes on with fog lights on, passenger side doesn't. Checked the wirring; driver's side has an extra grey wire (6 wires), passenger side doesn't have (5 wires).

    Whas goin on with that???

The drivers side is the minimum legal requirement in countries that need to have them, so more often than not, only the drivers side will have it active.

My Bora had only one rear fog, it was fixed by installing a bulb into the passengers side cluster.

Got a bulb in passenger's side; just no power wire running to it, it seems... looks funny.

Yes, working as intended. Only the drivers side rear fog light is operational. It is possible to wire them both up though if you wish.

Strange how the Bora's have them ready to go, just lacking the bulb.

The Golf's need to be rewired!

There is a few wiring diagrams floating around that explains how to DIY and get both sides going

I would like to do the opposite on my mk6..... Get rid of the fog light (dont need it much up here in beautifull Queensland!) and change it to a reversing light.... sick of people saying "hey you have a light out" when backing out!!!!

Checked my Bora rear fog light and yep there is only the drivers side with globe. What type of globe is it? I would like to have the passenger side fitted with a globe as well. Also, the rear reversing light is a bit weak, are there brighter globes for them and if so what type is needed.

Mine also only had a bulb on the drivers side. Installed a bulb in the other one and as far as i know it works. max they are just the standard 1 pin 12v 21w bulbs. Local Auto one should have them as stop or indicator lights.
