  • Anyone running 18x8 +42 offset?

as per title, anyone running these?
    particularly lowered?

currently run 18x8 +35 wheels and dont have clearance issues, but unsure if the 7mm less clearance to the struts may be an issue

worst case scenario, some spacers will alleviate that won't they?

i had 18x8 +45 on my bora, fine with stock. lowered, the fronts JUST touched the struts when i turned, 5mm spacer fixed that though.
You maybe able to get away with the +42 without spacers, but at worst you'll need a 2mm one.
Size of tyres might make a difference too, i had a 225/45 so no side wall over hang

yeah, unsure if I want to go 18x8 or 17x8 for my track rims.
both appear to have pretty good size options for r-comp rubber, and I guess spacers arent such an issue considering they will be track only

would 17 r tyres be cheaper?

pretty similar it seems, but yes im leaning towards the 17's for that reason, going to do more research before I make a decision

Id be going smaller and lighter rims, my bora is so much quicker with the bbs on and smaller tyres, even then the 15" stock wheels (yes i said it, my 2slow is quickER)
you'd want to space it out a heap more for the track anyway wouldnt you? make the car more stable as such

im a believer of getting the right wheels to start with rather than using spacers.
thankfully OZ appear to make some decent stuff in 17x8 with +35 offset

My 18x8 ET32's sit pretty close to my KW V3's. I doubt I could have ET42's with my setup.

is that winding the springs down past the tyre?

It's more of an issue with the strut. My car is set to the higher end of adjustment.
