Don't know the number but states VIN: WVWZZZ1JZ4D076558, Reg No: NBG68VOriginally posted by Silver dub View PostAny chance of finding out the number so when can check it off the list?
Does that help?
Wish I had the cash. Looks better then my one was! The bags didn't even go off!
Needs bonnet, grill, bumper, reo, headlight tabs plastic welded, radiator and condensor.
Not sure about the chassis, could be okay since the bags didn't go off...Mk IV Golf GTI - BMP - GIAC chip, R32 wheels, KW coilovers, rear swaybar.

Forgot to say also needs radiator support and possibly new fans!
Maybe some panel beating where the support bolts in either side.
Damn I wish I could afford it.Mk IV Golf GTI - BMP - GIAC chip, R32 wheels, KW coilovers, rear swaybar.

If you do buy it I can repair it for $3,000-$3,500.
$4,500 if the chassis needs straightening.

The hit is not as bad as it looks, especially considering the air bags didn't go off.Originally posted by RolfGolf View Post
Looks like it took quite a hit - you'd be wanting to get along and check it out before dropping cash on it.
Sure you'd want to check it out but if you can get it for 15K and lets say you have to spend 5K on it then you end up with an R32 with new panles for about 20K. 10K cheaper than whats on offer in car sales.
Its not gone, just deemed by the insurance company as uneconomical to repair.Originally posted by sir_camel View Postouch...another one gone
They do this due to the usual high price that smash repairers charge for paint, parts and labour.
After 31 October, insurance companies will be repairing more cars as they won't be able to get the money (that they do now) from auctions like Manheims and pickles.
The way it works is that insurance Co's calculate the car value minus the reserve price they can get at auction.
If the cost of repairs (from quotes) exceeds the difference then they write the car off. (As a repairable write off)
After 31 October they can't get the same money at auction as the only write offs will be statutory write offs, which means the car can never be re-registered and only sold for parts. These cars are worth nothing, so don't be surprised if more cars are actually repaired from the insurance companies after the said date.
Policies will probably increase as a result since their profit margin will be considerably less.
IMO insurance co's should be repairing more cars but are simply too greedy to do so.Mk IV Golf GTI - BMP - GIAC chip, R32 wheels, KW coilovers, rear swaybar.
