  • Stock boost on Golf IV GTI?

    Anyone know what the sticj biist is for 2000 model?

    I read 7psi some places, and 11 psi other places?

    Varies between 5 and 10psi depending on temperature outside afaik.

    It increases the boost the hotter the ambient air temp is and lowers it the colder it is to try and maintain similar power in all conditions.

    So the correct answer is : You'll never have a definative answer

              you want to be in 4th gear and about 5000rpm to see what the actual boost is and thats your answer basically.

              150hp engines they have 7.5-8 psi
              What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

                Interesting, because mine is running between 11 and 13... sometimes peaking close a 1 bar.

                My car is stock except for full 2.5" exhuast and air filter.

                Though I assume a free flowing exhuast is going to raise boost a bit over stock boost due to less restriction?
