  • Roof/Bike rack for my .:R.

    Hey all;

    I have question for all of those Cycling enthusists on the board; I ride BMX and up to now have been putting it ever so carefully in the boot of my .:R, however i'm getting a bit over doing this with fears of damaging uphaulstery, so my question is, are there any members on here that use a type of bike rack or even roof racks that don't require holes to be drilled, etc? I don't have a towball either (obviously) so that's out of the equasion.

    Input please!

    -Drew.

    According to this install guide http://thule.com.au/FITTING_GUIDE/kit_1050-06.pdf there's a pre-drilled mount inside the door frame (under top rubber) for the fitting. Not sure how it works at the back though. Not sure on the quality of thule either - anyone else had experience with these?

      Thule make excellent quality products.
      My mate uses them on his Astra and has had no issues at all.

        I don't think the Thule racks require any drilling. The Pro Ride 591 would be your best bet for a carrier though. I also ride bmx and I'm looking for an R32 at the moment. I can't decide if I want roof racks or not... They're so practical and look great with the bikes riding on top, but without the bike they definitely ruin the look of the car. Tough decision!

          Can't be that hard to remove them quickly if you where going on a cruise or something, though?
