  • .:R removing rear seats.

Has anyone removed their rear seats in an .:R or a Golf in general? I'd imagine it would be a fairly simple process to remove them, what setup have you put in place of them? Pics/discuss!

MR. JLT did a nice box install where the seats were originally.

Yes but Mr JLT doesn't have to meet ADRs.

Yes the seats are easy as to remove. Also note that it's a fair bit louder (not actually a bad thing IMO).
Also your car will flex a lot more if you don't have a stress brace of some description. The seats also weigh an absolute tonne as they have a steel bar in them as part of the rear protection system.

          Cheers,
          Trent

What kind of stress brace is that? I need one similar as I chuck my bmx in the back and most of the others sit up high and will interfear with it. Looks good!

                  It's a TST/UNIbrace - Unibrace

I just got one for my Bora.
                  Nothing to see here...

Lower is a TST rear brace, upper is a custom C-pillar bar

Wat trent said is correct....the car tends to flex alittle without back seat.....knowin this thru supersprints..Seats are quiet easy to remove
