  • Cai - Diy

I have been sitting at my computer after a few ANZAC day rums (and maybe a beer or 2) and have decided that I am not going to pay ultra $$ for a Carbon CAI for my MKIV.

I hereby declare I am going to make it out of.... PVC PIPE!

Using my trade knowledge and industry contacts I propose to make a CAI for under $35.00 that is as functional as any other bought one.

We will see how it looks/works when I get around to making it (most likely in a fortnight).

Between now and then, chuck your ideas on how you think I should do it to me in this thread!

    Lest we forget! n:

I have to say that pete posted 3 minutes before this post his mk1 PVC CAI and was gobsmacked at how someone just proved that I should be able to do it easily.

On a plumbing not, bunning is the most expensive place to buy pvc pipe. My local mitre 10 is half as much.

Good luck with the construction Mik, keep us posted.

A true performance mod is sometimes not the one that you take a photo of and place in a magazine!

                    Haha that's awesome though.

Bunnings seem to have overrun all other hardware stores. I used to see BBC and Mitre 10 here and there, but now all I see is Bunnings!

looks ok untill it rains and the water gets sucked up into your motor.

You just turn it upside down and it's a snorkel for all those deep river crossings you do in your lowered golf!
