The perfectly good quality stereo has been removed and a pointless aftermarket one has been put in. Honestly unless you want to drive around listening to techno and heavy dance tracks all day there is seriously no point in upgrading the stereos in these cars...
Cheers,

yeah, i agree that the standard system is pretty good. acoustically and physically.
the door skins are pretty much sealed, speakers made in belgium by phillips, and a simple clean head unit.
but i upgraded head unit to add, usb, mp3. also seems to have better aerial reception.
the doors were dynamatted, which made the mid bass so much more accurate and better.
i still see room for improvement from the OEM system, but that can only come with more money.

ha? not sure why the type of music you listen to has much to do with upgrading stereos... (though i suppose if you only listened to AM radio then yes there would be little point) but you can't say there is no point in upgrading the stereo if you enjoy good quality sound. yeah the stock stereo isn't too bad for a stock car (is it better in the R32?), but you can certainly make it shedloads better. Though horses for courses as always.
Installing my old stereo gear in my car was the very first thing i did to my gti. A little 10" sub to get the bass that no 6" speakers can reproduce, but only taking up a very small amount of space in the boot. Only problem now is that my amps on the back seats are in the way of where i want to install a unibrace...
Yep that's Paul Keefer's R32. Looked after immaculately by Mike Weber. It has done lots of track days but he does them properly with proper preventative maintenance and care. Most of the fun stuff has been put back to stock but it's still a good price for a well maintained car. He bought the car with those tail lights. Who knows what the first owner was thinking.

Cheers mate,
Is it the tracked R32 i'm thinking of? The fully decked out racer with the racing seats and what not that someone on here (Paul Keefer?) has?
