Broken Dip Stick Tube

Hi all,

I had a couple of days off this week before I head overseas for work next week so thought I would get the new dipstick tube and fit it before I went.

Rang my closest dealer....quoted the VIN number etc and explained what I needed
Spare Parts guy - "yes sir, we have one of those in stock"

Pete - "Terrific, i'll be in to pick it up"

I drive 40km to my closest dealer (Springwood) and ask for the part...

Spare parts guy - "I'm sorry sir, the computer says we have one, it doesn't seem to be there"

Pete - GRRRRRRRRRRRR "I drove 40km (80km round trip) only to find your system could use a stock take"

Spare Parts Guy laughs and says "Austral might have one"

Pete - "That's a 140km round trip for a part worth less than $10"

Spare parts guy laughs again...

And they wonder why we go elsewhere.

I rang Imparts...."yes we have them on the shelf $6.47 each and $10 courier delivery"

Done....don't know why I bothered with the dealer in the first place

We go through the same thing at my dealership. They probably did have one, but it's been put aside for another customer.

Wow what an ordeal.
I've never had problems at Springwood. I actually got my dispstick tube from them, they confirmed it was in stock and they put it aside for me. When I rocked up I told them my name and it came out of with my name written on it.


Craig did you tell them you were coming in and wanted it put aside ? or did you just call making an enquiry and not commit to purchase ??
