    Since we're just dreaming, 4mo running gear with a worked 20VT! Hello GT28 & 2.2 stroker kit!

    standard exterior, full sleeper spec!

Yes, now this is what i'm talking about!

Loon, thanks for bursting my bubble there! Oh well, V5 with forced induction it would be or like Jarred suggested, worked and blown 20V.... Sorry for the idea theft!

Dubbed, yeah I can see where your coming from, but apparently the GTi model is something like 150Kgs more than my Rally, surely that can't be all engine???

Speaking of 5 cylinder forced induction, had a TTRS fly past me along Ringwood bypass last week, damn that sounded hot!!!!!

I would, but I think of all the golfs, the Mk4 is still the best looking, bar the new Mk6 Golf R....

As for my 2 cents. I thought there was a 2.8L 4-motion GTI for sale in Oz? If thats what u fancy.. But on a side note. Conversions are fun and a pain in the arse at times. I have done a few vr6's in mk1s,mk2's along with some 1.8ts in mk2s and mk3s. And I'm collecting parts for a new build as the R is almost done with a custom turbo kit that I built. But also think about what you can spend on a swap v/s a car that may have most of the options that you like. So if you have the time and can budget a swap go for it. I may be able to help you out with extra Vr6 parts I have. Cheers J

go the v5 the vr6 well lets not go into the problems........the 5 is apparently quite a tunnable motor with a supercharger and not bad reliability wise.yeh stay away from the 6 and 1.8t well good motor but its not diffenent and you may as well buy a gti, interesting concept though thinking outside the box good to see their is someone else

Yeah, exactly. My logic is that why just buy a GTi when I can have something truely unique to me that suits my taste.

Supercharged V5...... I can just image the faces of people hearing that go flying past!

there are turbo kits available for the V5 from this site http://translate.google.com/translat...gp-turbo.de%2F

however at around $15k I think they are a little out of reach for most ppl - though that includes install so not sure how much it would be for all the bits...also germany is LHD arent they, so not sure if that would be an issue?

I wonder if I could just strengthen the gearbox in my car currently and look at installing a blower into the 1.6.....I know it wont pump out monster power but and all power is ggod power

There's a pretty decent area between engine and radiator, especially near the trans, I wonder if a small centrifugal type or SC12 style roots-type blower could be customised to fit there......
