lol its funny you say that though.. i could off sworn the fuel consumption has gotten better when i give it a little ironically

ooh i love the royal purple range have used it on all of my previous modified imports and swear by it... that and redline gear oil

im due for a service within the month so i might get in contact with my RP supplier and take it in with me for the oil change

haha i wish i could say that it has .. but as i mentioned earlier that i've driven the same since day one of owning the car and it doesnt get trashed

after battling it out with changing over the coolant temp sensor at 2am last night .. i finally have my new green top sensor in and will see how it goes as to whether it affects this increasingly better getting fuel consumption or not..

I thought I'd revive this thread after Graeme worked out the fuel consumption for my R32 from the first round of the Australian Tarmac Rally Championship at Mt Buller in Victoria.

The R32 used on average 21 litres of fuel for every two 16km runs up the mountain. We got roughly 1.6 kilometres per litre or 62.5 Litres per 100km or 4.5 MPG. Now that is a fuel consumption figure to be proud of

No I didn't see him run he was a lot earlier in the queue than us. I think it was their first time in any event and their car was only finished being built on the Friday Dean from Volkspower fixed their exhaust as it fell off the car as they were unloading it.

Anyway they finished a fair way down the order after a few problems, their best time was a 10:53 which isn't that quick but seeing as the car was just finished and it was their first event it wasn't a bad run. You can see the results here

On a track day i average roughly 25L per 100km, as you know i drive a reasonably light car with a 2L engine. On average i do about 50-60kms of actual track kms.

I'm so over people calculating their best fuel economy. I reckon we should just enjoy it (benzine) while we can.

I'm sure you'll be getting similar fuel consumption at Targa, maybe a bit less as it more a touring event than a hill climb.

im just gonna put it out there, but if i had an R, my fuel economy would have been pretty terrible in the first couple weeks, and gradually get better the more used to that NOISE i got.
i know thats the way it was with my VR, so imagine it would be even more so with an R. when you first get them you cane the crap out of them and gradually calm down, resulting in better fuel economy.

i would just check faults, and if all thats ok, then i wouldnt worry about it

bahaha just over 12 months on and I'm still running at an average of 14.2l/100km....
