Fuel cap not opening!

Hi everyone,

another day and another problem, my fuel cap will only open when it's happy (golf iv). Sometimes it'll open when i press the button, sometimes it feels like the buttons not attached at all. Anyone know how i can fix this little nasty problem?

Try testing the switch with a multimeter.
If the switch is OK then maybe the problem is with the actuator at the fuel door.

Switches common on them mate, disconnect it and bridge it to try and your flap will open, if you have VCDS ( VagCom) you can do an output test and that will work the actuator, that way you will know if the switch has sharted

Just replaced mine.

First it used to fire out and have to be reinserted then the plastic pins broke off.

Been opening it with a screw driver, relax not the fuel cap, just stick the driver into the switch there is a little pressure plate in there.

Even better just replace it it was only $22.
