  • Got me a GTI

Well I got this car about a fortnight ago now to replace my VR6 that I sold to my father, 2003 GTI reflex silver. It's got 17" factory wheels (not sure of the name), APR 95 tune (thinking of getting it changed to 98?), APR downpipe, APR R1 DV, 4motion rear section. It goes great, handled the inch of hail and rain on the drive back home ok

03 MkIV GTI - K04-001, APR 2.5" TBE/TIP/Software, Forge FMIC, GFB DV+, Powergasket+, Dark Tint, 17" Bora Sport, Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, BMC CDA, Dieselgeek SS, Hella Celis, R32 Alloy Trim...
    95 MkIII VR6 (sold)

        Hey looking good.
        Like the valance and exhaust.
Wheels look good to on a full ride height.
        Needs tint though.

Thanks, yeah the colour coded valances really do set it off The exhaust is standard with modded tips atm but I'll be looking into getting the cat back replaced, window tint is also on the cards as well as a few other things

They look like bora sport wheels to me, although I don't think that's what they are...?

Very nice car I think this is what I would realistically upgrade to if I sold my VR6 within the next one or two years.

                        ^^^^ X2

love the MK4s in shiny silver, i reckon the MK4's have really held their age well, especially as some (like mine) are hitting that 'scary' 10 year mark...

Yeah I was refering to the rear valance. In the reciepts it was called '4motion section". Took me a little while to figure it out too. GTIs didn't come out with that exhaust cut out standard as far as I know. Window tint will be happening by December, if I don't get it done earlier then it's going to be my xmas present from my parents. Thinking of getting a Forge TIP and K&N air filter in the mean time.

Will be good to see another MK4 GTI getting around the north of the state. I've only seen 1 or 2 others here in Launceston since i've owned mine.

Hey ntails, yeah probly will see you around, I've got a few friends in Launie. Not many mk4 GTIs about is there, a fair few mk5 GTIs getting around though.

I've been looking at getting some shocks and springs and just wondering what to get. Does anyone have any experience with:
                              H&R OE (drop 1inch front - 0.5inch rear $220US),
                              Eibach Pro-Kit (drop 1.2inch front and rear$190US)
or Neuspeed SofSport (drop 0.5inch front and rear $200US) or any suggestions on which to get.
I was looking at getting a set of springs and an APR or Forge TIP $175US and $170US respectively, probably APR. So this would only cost me about $380US plus post which with current AUD dollar would be pretty cheap I think.

Been looking at this site here
