coolant temp sensor $?

Where exactly would this sensor be on an MK4 R32? I scanned my car today and its coming up with the fault code for it.

Take off the engine cover

Area you want to look in


Black top coolant sensor


Green top coolant sensor


There is a DIY HERE but the pictures are dead so just use these with the DIY instructions it is a very easy job to do just make sure the engine is cold when you do it. As always these questions are always answered in the R32 FAQ on VWVORTEX

Al, my point still stays the same. Some parts (ball joints for the MK1 for example) are cheaper here than by import. Of course specialty items are going to be different as there is less competition on their import.

I will still call a local place before buying online from overseas, that is just me.

No you will need to scan it with Vagcom or a similar scanning tool like VAD.
