Never had seats or a racebrace in either race days!!!....the car was a weapon felt great with that invinceability about it....
I'll tell you what mate you'll notice the difference it makes. Especially with the seats down or out you'll hear it creaking and groaning as the rear strut towers try to flex against it.
Cheers,
Trent
i'll go a bit off topic, what about a 24v 2.8? are there any cheaper alternatives than listed here for the R? I know that replacing a stock rear box with an aftermarket will give a few extra kWs and save a good amount of weight (at the rear though )

Without getting into the motor- I think you might be limited to CAI, Software, cams, headers, high flow cats, 2.5"-3" exhaust, lighten pullies, short shift, SRI, lightened flywheel, upgrade the grouding kit to 2 gauge wire, port and polish the Throttle body or upgrade it and get a bigger one, motor mounts, haldex, and if you got the $$ bore and stoke that bad boy and raise the compression and flow the head if you wana stay NA or get a 3.6 or the forbiden words go FI
^doing all that still costs a bit and wouldn't really impress like FI would, but would be interested in some more info. A superchrger giving 350hp/500Nm would be perfect.

The race cars werent as extreme as anyone thinks . They dynoed 297 German hp with cams , manifold , 3inch cat deleted exhaust and software .
no headers , no cats , no pullies , no short shift , stock clutch and flywheel , V8 throttle body with larger MAF housing , modified stock airbox , solid mounts , no haldex . I wouldnt recommend increase in bore and stroke , the piston speed was getting close to the limit for the 3.2 . Stock compression cause it was running pump gas . Headwork would have helped heaps , as would changing the rod ratio and getting lighter pistons . Everything is available from VW Motorsport bar the manifold , but , it costs 3 sometimes 4 times as much as aftermarket suppliers . I still have access to it but unless your serious please dont pm me . for example , the cams are around 5000 euro and are approx 288's .
