  • Any interest in another INA products GB?

    Hi all,

I think I'm shortly going to find out I need a new engine mount and potentially gearbox mount as well. Rather than replace them with stock parts, I was considering the INA Engineering replacement products - there have been two GBs for INA Dogbone mounts that I'm aware of, and I'm pretty sure everyone's been happy with them.

I've spoken to INA, and he's happy to run another GB for us. We need to make 10 purchases to get his GB pricing - those purchases can be for just a single mount (engine, gearbox or dogbone), a combination (engine and gearbox) or all three (engine, gearbox and dogbone). He offers all three in two levels of hardness - 50a (street) and 80a (track), with the street product being harder than stock (which is around 35a IIRC), but not too harsh for day-to-day driving, and track being a harder again, and suited more to people who take their cars on the track regularly (though there are people who use them quite happily for street use).

Further details can be found in the following thread on VWVortex (please note the prices there are not available to us):

(If anyone is interested in the INA strut mounts, let me know, and I'll get a price)

If we get 10 order, the prices (ex shipping) will be as follows:

    Dogbone Mount: AUD$100
    Engine + Gearbox Mount: AUD$300
    Engine + Gearbox + Dogbone: AUD$350

Those prices are based on an exchange rate of AUD$1 for USD$0.80 - if the rate stays above that, I'll work out and refund differences, if it drops below, I may have to ask a few more dollars from each person to get things working. Once we have a firm order, I'll work out shipping and let each person involved know what they're up for.

Just after an EOI at this stage. If things look positive, I'll let those who've expressed interest know, and we'll start getting serious!

    Provisional Numbers:

    1. Manaz, Engine + Gearbox Mounts.
    2. VDUB-BUD, Dogbone Mount.
    3. IanJ, Dogbone Mount.

I'm interested in street dogbone mount.
$100 is that for the bushings or the whole mount?
    I'm interested!

I've got all three track density mounts in my car. All I can say is that they're fantastic. Slight extra harshness is noticeable but not nearly as much as you think. I thought it was more but it turn out that the extra vibration was actually my wheels out of balance ever so slightly.

I'll be looking at getting the track spec strut top mount bushings and bearings next year or so once the newish stock ones I've got deform as they do.

        Cheers,
        Trent

Happy to try to include them in this GB if you'd like - they won't perish sitting on your shelf...

Haven't seen that - though I suspect most people with a Mk4 are well out of warranty by now.

                  haha, OK.

I'll check with INA to be sure - but I suspect that as he supplies full mounts rather than just bushes, they should be covered.

The INA dogbone is the entire unit not just the rubber inserts.

I believe from what I last read, there were reports that about 5 had failed or something like that and they were also on crazy turbo R32 jobbies that were being heavily tracked. I think other turbo units have tracked them with no problems. Very limited and isolated so it would seem.
                        No issues with mine.

Any idea of timeframe for this? If it's not too long then I'm in for the dogbone.
