Fellas, just bumping this with an update.

Courtney/Seb have come back with a price of $70 depending on how many we want. I've emailed Courtney back to confirm that. I would rather support this local business, so lets get some numbers happening and make it worth their while, so far we have:

    Snowy - Canberra
    agonza - Canberra
    sierra055 - Melbourne
    VDUB-BUD - Northern Beaches
1 Spare Liner - ???who wants it??

    Snowy.

      Hi Snowy,
Sorry for the noob question. But who/what are Seb/Courtney? What would the postage to WA be?

      Thanks,
      Ian

I'm down with wheel liner if they are $70.

I'll add you to the list mate. They've said that the $70 figure is "depending" upon numbers interested so I'll put you down until otherwise. I've emailed back to double check that pricing.

          Cheers,

          Snowy.

What sort of timeframe would we looking at to get these landed at our doors? My liners stuffed and would be keen on one of these if i didn't have to wait too long.
I was quoted $80 for a non vented one from VW down here.
            Im located in Tas

            Cheers

Seb and Courtney are members who run businesses which specialise in VWs - Seb (aka Bug_racer) runs Euro Automotive, a VW-specialist workshop in Western Sydney, and I believe Courtney (aka WhiteVR6) runs Euro Revolution.
              Nothing to see here...

                Ah cool thanks.

If the price doesn't go much further north of that I'm in.

Fellas, shipping to WA and Tassie I have NFI, that's something that would have to be tackled at the time, if this manages to go ahead, but each person would need to allow some $ for it depending on where in OZ they live.

                  IanJ added to the list.

                  Snowy.

                    Snowy,
If you could get a size and weight we can do our own homework (save you any more hassles)

                    Thanks for organising this,

OK guys, this is what I have back from Courtney, please note the shipping cost is variable and not stated, but this is the best information I can get if we would like to purchase locally and support people we know.

Our only other option is to source directly from O/S where a shipping price can be locked in/fixed.

It becomes a moral question for me at this point but what do you guys want me to do, it is up to you?

Although failing this option I don't think I'll be personally pursuing this anymore.

"That $70+gst is our price to you and is in aus dollars.
We would have to add shipping on top but we wont know the cost of shipping until we actually order the items as this depends on what else we order at the time and how large our order is.

If this is all good with you let me know and we can get the ball rolling.

                      Cheers

                        Ladies and Gentlemen,

Snowy and I have been working behind the scenes on this and had come up with this firm price from tdiparts.com in US:

They have the liners for US$64.95ea (less 5% as order would be over $200)

Shipping has been firmly quoted at US$80 for a pack of five. Delivery would be 8 -10 days from order.

Total landed is approx A$100ea. (plus any duty which may apply from Customs, those sterling defenders of Australia's national interest)

We were going to get five sent to Brisbane (for the Northerners) and 5 to Snowy for distribution in Sydney etc.

Anyone in Melbourne etc could also order five separately and get same price.

We were ready to announce these details until Euro Revolution contacted Snowy yesterday.

There would be extra shipping to Brisbane from Sydney anyway so I was personally favouring a direct order from US.

Over to you guys....what is the consensus?

                        Graeme

Thanks Graeme for your help on this.

I guess I am torn with my stance here, being that while I would prefer to buy locally if there is a chance of obtaining the goods, it does make it a very hard stance to maintain when the final cost ($70+GST+Shipping?) can't really be stated, and then it may (or may not) understandably become a pricing blowout risk to both the supplier and the customer. (Please see UPDATE EDIT below)

I won't hide that I would prefer the business to go to an Aussie company, the price is good but the unknown shipping is a worry.

On the other hand, I also think $100 (AUD) shipped, with a specified 8-10 days delivery for the vented liners is a damn good buy, better than what I thought we would get at the start of this.

Chew on it guys and let us know.

UPDATE EDIT: here is the latest info re pricing from Euro Revolution, it's sounding very good.

                          Hi there
Ok I was just talking to Seb again and it seems i miss understood him... the $70 is for the Liner once it gets to Aus any shipping after that is extra... i thought he meant $70 was just the cost of the Liner sorry...
If you have a definate amount we can make an order on monday sorry about the mix up.
Let me know what you would like to do
                          Cheers

I've PM'd Graeme about this Snowy. Whichever way you and he decide to go, I'm cool with. Oh yeah that means I'm in. Graeme had me penciled in anyway with the other R boys up here.
