  • Fitted new APR R-1 Diverter (when do Geese mate?)

Put it in this afternoon,.....but I don't like it. From about 2000 rpm upward and on gear changes just on boost it makes a honking sound like a lovesick goose.
Anyone else here have this with an R-1?

I think I'll pull it back out tonight and put the good old, perfectly fine, Bosch plastic one back in, before some lovesick Gander sees my white car and tries to mate with it

I've never heard a lovesick goose. Wanna take a video recording of it?

Is it meant to sound like that? I'd youtube search it maybe? see how it is for other people's cars.

I can only describe it as an intermittent "honking" sound. It's not supposed to do it, I did the thing and it's a fault that some of them had, lots of reported exchanges and replacements by APR due to weak springs.

All I ever heard were good reports, but now if I do a search about R-1 honking fault, I get heaps of hits.

      Trust me to get one.

Only thing to do is contact the seller.

Mine does it as well apperently its normal something to do with the charge of air being sucked.

The good thing about the R1 is they dont use springs it uses diaphram just like the OEM one.

Another great thing is they come with a lifetime warranty
