Dashboard squeaks and rattles

Hi all,

I live in an area where there are cobblestone street entrances...bump bump bump every time I drive anywhere - so my centre console (around the radio/ac/cupholder area) has become increasinly squeaky/rattly.

A friend suggested pulling it apart and putting felt strips between the joins (apparently something Audi used to do in the 80/90's).

Has anyone tried this or have any other suggestions to stop the squeaks?

I've had the same suggestion for my car - the most squeaking seems to come from where the dash meets the centre console (near the ODB port).

I used window sealing strips. Just stick on, works great.
