  • Rear floor mat attachments

    hey guys.

both of the floor mats for the rear seats in my car are not secured. they both have provision, i guess you would call it a stud or something to that affect, im sure you know what im on about, to attach them to the floor but i cant find where or even remnants of where they would attach.

can someone show me how theirs attach or at least explain to me what i should be looking for. im sick of having my rear mats end up under the front seats.

If you have genuine mats they have holes which clip over the pegs, just like the front mats have. I assume the front are secured.

My car had mats with 1 hole but 2 pegs on the floor. I unscrewed them and put just one peg back in the middle. Works great.

How about posting some pics of these mats ?

The rear mats in my car which I assume are OEM just screw into the carpet, they don't have the little mounting points like the front mats. My mats have the round clips on both front & back, not oval clips.

i have given it another look and come to the conclusion i am missing the part that screws into the floor and attaches to the mat. i didnt realize the mats used a differnt attaching style compared to the front.

looks like ill just have to go to a stealership and pick up some spare ones. shouldnt be expensive but as experience tells me so far i will probably have to buy new rear mats to get the bits i need

the bit that plugs into the middle of the clips on the mat also has a star head screwdriver point so you can screw into the carpet. hope that makes sense, let me know if you want a pic.
