  • Help removing dashboard piece

    Hi Guys.

I haven't managed to find anything on this forum or Vortex, so have resorted to asking. Can anyone tell me how to remove the single DIN storage box above the radio in my Bora?

Mine is making a horrible squeaking noise, so I want to remove it and see what I can do about it.

    Thanks in advance.

I forget how i did mine, but from memory you can lock your fingers around holes in the top of it (facing the drink holder) and pull it out, theres no screws etc, just a big socket (not surf if thats the correct term) it goes into at the back. Or you maybe able to pull the drink holder out first. Hope that helps

Right! Silly me for thinking it might be something more complicated than that

Will give it a try this evening and see if I can stop the squeak.

As others have said it just needs to be pulled and it should pop but with mine I have to slide the stereo out a bit first but mines aftermarket, I cant remember with the original.

I did this the other week as mine was cracked and I've ordered a replacement. I used a small screw driver to just pry one side out and then it was easy, would suggest you remove your drink holder tray (above).
