  • **TST Brace Group Buy**

    Hi boys and girls,

Hope all is well in the land of Dub.

I'm just wondering if there would be any people interested in a TST Style Rear Brace for their Mk4 Golf ?
TST have a massive back order of these and you'll be looking at waiting a few months before delivery and you'll probably be looking at around $600AUD with freight.
I have made one previously ... first time around with my .:R ... but then sold it.
You can find info on the TST Brace at this link. http://www.tomassporttuning.com/stressbrace.php

Obviously, its much more cost effective to get them made in a batch of 5 or10, so if any one is interested please post your interest .

I am in WA so please take into account the cost of freight aswell.

    Cheers

    Stuart

    **UPDATE**

    Pricing can be found below.
    (Doesn't include freight but does include 5 x M8 CSK Screws and 5 x M8 Nutsert fittings.)

These braces will have a Textured Black powdercoated finish.

    1 off - 375.00
    5 off - 280.00ea
    10 off - 260.00ea

how inconvenient is it to remove this if and when you might need to fold seats down?

can anyone review its effectiveness and performance?

                  You'd be the fourth.

Postage (courier) really shouldn't be too much - I can get four wheels and tyres across the country for $100 or so!

Wow, that does read well. Makes me feel I've done the right thing by signing up

Fuzion - you can remove and reinstall the brace in a few minutes if you really do need to drop the seats...

I suspect you could always get a professional (body shop or mechanic) to do it for you if you're worried about messing it up. I'm going to do mine myself, using the "measure twice, cut once" method

Honestly it really is very easy to install ... and if you don't want to do it yourself just take your rear seat out go to a mechanics and it shouldn't take them any longer than 20mins to install it.

One of the best bang for buck mods I have done to the car and I've done a fair few mods to this car

I got one of the early original braces direct from Tomas Sport Tuning in California on the 18/5/2006 it was $275.00 USD plus $59.25 USD for shipping for a total of $334.25 USD the exchange rate on that day was .76 AUD to 1.00 USD

So the total AUD I paid was $435.82 delivered to my door so the prices being quoted on the front page are very competitive.

Whoever is organising the build is welcome to have a look at my original brace if you are in Brisbane if you want to see exactly how it is made and mounted as it isn't just a flat piece of metal that has been water jetted out it has square metal bracing riveted to the brace for extra rigidity. You will need to provide nutserts and bolts and a basic tool to install the nutserts but again anyone in Brisbane is welcome to have a look at mine to help with their install. I might event be able to dig up the original install PDF from my archives or one of my contacts over in SoCal.

                            Cheers Al

                              don't freak out guys.

                              I was a mechanic.

im sure i'll do it right. but the thought of elongating holes into my .:R32 is kind of unsettling, that's all...
