Reason: add on's
A little bit of research online (www.powerbulbs.co.uk - punch in one model, check what it uses, punch in the other, compare and contrast) tells me that the Bora requires H4 headlamp bulbs, as does the Mk2 Golf. So you have a winner there.
Unless they're brand new themselves, and have a single-digit number of hours on them, why you'd bother with second-hand globes when you can get new Philips X-Treme Power bulbs landed in Australia from a reputable seller for less than $65, I do not know.

They qualify under the reasoning I gave then!
Do you know exactly what they are (manufacturer and model name)?
no i dont i will find out tomrrow. dose is make a diffrence with different brand?
I'd trust a reputable brand (Philips, Osram, etc) over a lesser (or no-name) brand - they're likely to last longer and actually produce the light output you're after.
i just got call from him and he said it's osram. sounds like you know your product so i will take your word. thanks Manaz
Sounds promising - ask him what model if possible as well (if he bought them recently, he should know). The Night Breakers (which produce whiter light, which also sounds promising for you) have a good reputation for giving strong light output (which I believe you're after).

you call this guy a friend and you dont trust him? What kinda friend is that? Dont you need ballasts for these?
They call all the Blueish look bulbs "Xenon" bulbs but they aren't.
MK4's use H7 and so do most VAG Cars (most, not all!).
The Blue look bulbs infact are NOT useful, and do not give you a better light on the road and you will notice this especially in wet weather and wonder if your headlights are on at all.
Buy a Xenon Conversion Kit from Ebay for about $150-300 and retrofit that into your headlight. Best with a Projector Beamed Headlight as you will get a much better cut beam/and not blind on coming drivers (then again, most twats have 100w illegal bulbs or those damn honda's with those blinding bulbs in sydney are your competition lol). Do not buy over 6000k as they will be too blue/purple and you will get nailed for it, that and it looks tacky as ****.
The best bulb to be honest is called "All Vision", they are VERY yellow on the road. So yellow it you can see a yellow beam of light like a fogbeam. However you can see through any weather condition.
DO not buy anything from Supercheap. As mentioned, Osram, Bosch, Hella only.
Grab Xenon Kit + All Visions for Highbeam and your Set

Just on this - the Mk4 Golf uses H7, but the Mk4 Bora uses H4. Not sure why they chose different bulbs for cars so incredibly similar, but there you go!
