From what iv learnt these parts just wear out over time, these, the plastic brackets holding the glass in your power windows, and broken remote keys are they only problems with this generation VWs

The Lambda/O2 sensor is generally placed (I believe, it's certainly on the exhaust side of the engine) in the exhaust manifold or shortly after it, and measures the amount of oxygen present in your exhaust gases. This reading is used by your ECU to adjust the fuel/air mixture for combustion - too much oxygen in your exhaust gases and the car is running lean, too little and it's running rich.

A MAF sensor measures air flow into the engine, and is used as part of the calculation for air/fuel mixtures (it tells the engine how much air is coming into the engine, the engine works out how much fuel should be injected, reads the lambda sensor to see if the exhaust gas mix is right, and if not, adjusts things at the intake level again.
This is right on from how its been explained to me also. So as you can see from manazs discription 1 part can upset another and so forth

Unfortunately not I am afraid; check their booklet and terms and conditions before you sign up

Check what it does cover, what it WON'T cover (probably more important, and I suspect a longer list than what it does cover), and whether or not you're tied to using them for servicing (and at their intervals) in order for the warranty to be effective.

Be aware that even if you meet all their requirements, they'll do their best to get out of paying for repairs anyway.
            Nothing to see here...

so true, when i got my car it had 60,000 on the clock, and within the 3month dealer warranty i got the MAF died, they said they would replace it, so what they did was take one out of another bora (with 80,000 already on the clock) that they had in the yard, put it in mine, then ordered a new 1 i guess for the one they had to sell...
Also the globe in my climate control area died within the 3 months, (i at the time didnt know about this forum and how simple it is to replace) but even a cheap and simple to replace globe they didn't want to know about it (as its also not covered in there warranty in the fine print)
