  • Yellow/orange look lights, blank fog in headlight

Does anyone know how to get this effect? the really yellow/orange lights?

i currently have 6000 kalvin globes but they dont really light up the road unless its near pitch black dark (then they look a awesome purewhite/blue) as they seem to be cancelled out by other lights near by.
and wouldnt mind the yellow/orange as a differnet look if it ment i could put other more powerful globes back in.

also wondering if anyone has cut a hole in the 'blank' where hte fog light goes in the base model headlights in a MK4? was told that some unscrew from behind, but after a inspection mine dont...
or do i just keep hunting for a second hand set with a fog as standard..

If you don't have fog lights, what you COULD do is put orange globes in as your parkers. I've done that and they shine better than the original ones do because orange cuts through lots of light (orange/yellow/red are penetrating lights, hence yellow for fogs). They look good too!

It looks like that bloke, with his almighty-ly sexy bora, has put orange globes in either the fog position or the parker.

If you want to penetrate fog, xenons from the R32 might be a consideration? I drove through some pretty thick fog last night and the xenons cut through it well

True fog lights are generally yellow because it causes much less glare when it reflects back towards, you, and thus doesn't inhibit your vision as much.

I'm surprised you didn't have the opposite effect - dazzled by back-scatter from the fog. That said, the Xenons do have a lot more punch, and will project light further than Halogens.
          Nothing to see here...

I don't know that Dylan is looking for a light upgrade..I was under the impression he just wanted some orange!

Mate, if your parker bulbs are W5W style bulbs, you can get them at any auto shop and even a few petrol stations for like $5 the pair. there's also a paint (all different colours available) that you can buy from the auto shops if you can't get your parkers in that colour.

My thoughts are telling me they're that colour because of photoshop it wouldn't be heaviily edited though, you'd get the same look, just maybe not as much saturation.

Yeah i dont have to many problems with fog, if there is that much fog on the road that i cant see im sure there would be worse problems (other cars etc) i just wanted to see if i could install fog lights in my headlights or if anyone has done it on the blank 1s

Yeah thats it Mrk_Mickey! i probley should have made to seperate threads to not mix the issue. the orangeness is just for my parkers, the fogs is a differnent kettle of fish.

Yeah think they the W5W from memory, really basic typical style..

Have you seen the paint used before? if so how does it look?

Ahh good old photoshop, i see so many like it so was starting to think it may have been abit more then photo editing or lighting tricks etc
