  • Behind The Scenes Video of my GTI ECU Reflash

After realising that the MK4 GTI was the slowest car in the Mighty Car Mods garage, we decided to do something about it and get a REVO flash. Video and dyno run in video...

If they've got the ~150kW they were expecting, that gives them roughly the same power output as the V6 4Motion. It'd be interesting to know what the estimated torque is after the reflash, and how the curve looks - the 2.8L V6 has 270Nm (not sure what the NA torque curve looks like).

If the torque curve and delivery is relatively similar (they'll be different due to FI vs NA, but I'm not sure how different in the end, or how much that matters given the different gearing as well), then you're left with weight - I know a V6 Bora weighs ~1400kgs - what's a GTI weigh?

The difference in 0-100km/h times shouldn't be TOO substantial in the end!
              Nothing to see here...

A bora is about 1500 odd and a gti about 1300 ?? So that's huge

In the wet it's all over but I think a chipped GTI would munch a stock bora. Maybe with a chip and something else who knows ??

Having said that, NA Pickup is awesome NO LAGG and yeh I will be sad when I sell the bora to lose the sound

I've flashed my Bora with Custom-Code and the power delivery is noticably smoother! Quicker off the line but as far as timed runs go, I am too kind to my clutch to do repetitive back to back runs. Although I have surprised a few at ye olde traffic light sprints

Had to laugh at the talk of massive gains to be had during the video and it showed and R32... No massive gains happening there unless you do go forced induction. Much nicer car though.
                    Good video.
                    Cheers,

I had my 1.8T Passat done by custom code. Never gave it a dyno run but power and torque gains at the wheels I'd say was roughly 30% if the torque steer was anything to go by Others from ECCA would know how much more powerful it was! Highly recommended on any *.*T VAG!

No sexual innuendo was intended - well, maybe a little bit.

And amazingly the guys over in the US on Vortex love this video! They don't usually like our accents and we have have been accused in the past of being weird sounding 'F@#KING AUSSIES'.
