I did mine by hand with a good old stanely knife and some sand paper (lots of fun and definitely not a 100% perfect result).
Alternatively you can get them from TMTuning.
Can't help you with the actual VW part numbers sorry.
The Aussie Rs were a mixed batch as to the combination of whether they were open or not. With the extra radiator on the drivers side you would've thought that they would all be open to allow air flow, however some had open vents others were closed.
I believe all the passenger side ones were closed except for the bottom outside corner bit where the ambient temperature sensor is for the comfort module.
Cheers,

I lost one of mine and i got them both from VW for $47. First they gave me both open but i wanted the passinger one closed because of the CAI so they ordered a closed one. Better than using a knife IMO

Wouldn't you want more air being able to get to the CAI?

that would get more air in but it can get water in as well. Perth's sewage system is not that good. As soon as it raines you get big puddles that you can't avoid. I can always take it out if i need more air

Alrighty then. That's the good thing about the BMC CDA (as opposed to a pod). Because only the hose hangs down, you'd pretty much have to submerse the thing to get it to suck any water up to the filter and then into engine.
