  • Headlight bulbs? Anywhere from 50-100 which include parking lights. I've tried led Parkers and they weren't great as the beam is to focused so it didn't bounce off the reflectors.
If you're talking entire headlights probably around 4-500 depending where you shop.
Good choice with led interior too. I Love my LEDs - I haven't done the vanity mirrors yet and probably won't. Can't be bothered.

      • Sorry guys, wasn't too specific!! I was meaning the Globes. looking for around 4300k.. All white. no bluey or yellowyness. done a minimal amount of research.

Audi tone - I guess i wont be going for the LED Parkers then. Cheers for that advice. And the interior LEDs just change the car enormously for such a minor thing. Love it!

Do the headlight Globes come in pairs or singles..? Any specfic brand or are they generally all pretty similar?

I guess most of that ill find out from the bloke at Autobahn..

And out of 10, whats installation like of headlights and Parkers?

Sorry for all these questions guys.. Probs getting a little off topic here!

        • Strictly speaking I haven't "done" this to my Bora yet, but I picked up a set of Oettinger REs today.

Many thanks to Boris the Russian who sold these to me, they came off his very nice 03 Bora 4motion Sport.

Unfortunately they came without the hub centric rings so I need to find some before I can fit them. I believe what I need are od68mm id57.1mm, does that sound right? Anyone have any ideas where I can get some from?

          • Fitted my e-tag which came in 1 day!!! (was quoted 7-10 working days by the RTA!!!)

            • Roache - globe wise anything around 4300 is going to be good. I'd stick with a brand like narva or Phillips or osram (on eBay for about $50)
Bulbs should be h7 for your main beam and h3 for high beam (haven't changed mine yet as I hardly Use high beam) Parkers come with the bulbs you buy to match
Installation was a bitch for me. Especially on the passenger side as the batteries there. Just take your time!

I got a Remus axleback exhaust today as I find my custom too loud sometimes - anyone know if I'd see performance decrease if I mated this 2.25" axle back to my existing 2.5 where intended? Or should I mate the axleback (chop closest to the muffler) as late in the system as possible? Keeping in mind I'm going for a quiter exhaust note?!?

                • i thought the oettingers came with 57.1...?

Cookie could go some taillights, stubbie aerial, tinting?
Or use it to save up for wheels or lows.

                    • The way I understand it is the newer 18 and 19 inch Oettingers are available with 57.1 centres but the older 17 inch ones all had the same 68mm centres and came with hub centric rings to suit whatever car they were for. I read somewhere that the 57.1 rings are a funky purple colour.

68>57.1 is turning out to be a very obscure size so I might have to get some made.

                        • Spent all day trawling the internet trying to nail down info about what hub centric rings and lugs to us for my Oettingers, my eyes were going square so I took a break and debadged the rear end. Didn't realise it would be that easy, took less than 20 minutes.

Basically, yes. There wasn't much fog visible at that carpark, there's some over the trees in the background in that pic. See also this -

Fog is fairly unusual in the city too (well, Perth at least).

                            • This week I clocked over 100000km.

                              Discovered this -

I knew they were on the way out, but might be time to fix them up now I think lol

                              And replaced these -

after I lost one of the original set.
