HA!!! you did this in one day, took me 3 weeks AND i managed to shred a outer CV boot in the process.
Took a bit longer than I would have liked, about 5 hours all up including re-lubing the sway bar bushes, doing the oil change, replacing a stripped bolt on an exhaust clamp and installing new wiper blades
For my next trick I'll attempt a haldex filter and oil change, (once I buy the haldex wrench.).

I need to look see at the specifics of Haldex changes. Not sure whether I'll service myself or go official yet....
Any links/tips Pete?
i think there is a cool jpg floating round of a good pictorial and write-up of the haldex oil change. I need to change my controller and then do a filter and oil change too. Judging by my suspension handywork i'd say it might take me about 4 days

Getting the car far enough off the ground to be able to use the cartridge gun to refill the oil.
GAP has the wrenches and filters, I'll have to get the oil from VW locally. To get enough clearance under the car I'll have to run it up on my tandem trailer.
I have my own haldex tool-it more like a crows foot-but works well(same ones as Billswebspace). The haldex is pretty easy drive the car to get the oil warmed up and then change it. Filter and oil I think it took me about 20mins. Also you dont need the calking gun you can fill from the sight glass. I used the ramps I bought from Autobarn and then put the front on jack stands so the car was level.
wired up the xenons to work using a 10 pin plug and a 12 pin plug, need to do the internal mod on the headlight to make the levelling motor work though.

Must be said that I meant "insane" in a good way. Unfortunately I have no money to spend at the mo.
I did spend a whopping $105 (including postage) to get: replacement chrome bonnet strut, stubby antennae to replace a missing one and a front right regulator repair kit that I needed to replace two broken plastic window carrier clips.
VW advised that I'm unable to buy the clips seperately and wanted $220.00 for the regulator kit.

Golfs apparently you can buy the clips on there own. Boras however, not so lucky.
Metal ones would be the way to go!
Did my most shameful and ghetto mod yet. Taped the button above the clutch down so my cruise control works... (stopped working after i had my clutch pedal welded back together).
Now to go vacuum my car and put all the covers and foot rests back in that we had to remove

I'm sure my next order will be more worthy...
Haha that was sarcasm. 1.5k a bit hefty to spend on car parts with 1k more but i love my car (it however doesn't love me ) But that sounds good now you wont buy anything from the stealerships haha

Haha, Does that work? My clutch switch is ****ed and i'm waiting for the one from ecs and its a pain not having cruise control. Especially when i find out that its not the clutch switch

works lovely!
My switch is fine though, the bit that is ment to push on it no longer exists on my pedal, so taping it down make the switch think the clutch is still pressed against it. what happened to yours?
