What have you done to your mk4 (golf/bora) today?

wheels are on tyres. just need to wait for the spacers to arrive this coming friday then it'll be on.
might not be everyones taste, but i'm happy. nice a light too.

The before pic isn't fish eye haha. Its parked in a gutter though so that side is up high. Saying that though its sitting in the gutter in the after photos aswell so I'll break out the dslr and get some nice pictures soon.

Fit new front grill today (thanks Alex) ...



I like how it continues the black accents of the car.

Now I just need to get my sway bars sorted and sport spindles so I can do the rest of the suspension stuff in one go.

Apart from wheel issue fitted r32 front brakes and fitted the r32 exhaust only thing needed to fit exhaust was lengthen the pipe by 30mm and fitted new clamp also the rear tips will need to be lengthened to sit in bar.

Dan - bora looks great! How's the ride??

The ride is pretty good, a little less bumpy than i thought actually. Should be better when I raise the fronts and I'll have to learn to drive a bit slower I think.

Bora has been sitting idle and undriven for a good 3-4 months. I had fired her up a few times for a good 10minutes (which i now know is not the best thing to do, but at least kept some charge in the battery) but hadn't fired her up in a good few weeks at least. Went to start her today and dedd. nothing. Got a booster and she sucked everything out of the booster just to fire up, but then after about 1 minute or so she died. Booster was gone, so tried a battery lying around as a jumper but nothing still.
Either the battery is dead, or we have a loose terminal (it was dark) or the alternator isn't charging? thoughts?

Easy if you have Tapatalk once you reply or start post if you look just above the keys you will see the advanced options selection. Open this and options will appear select photos and select pic you want to upload and it pretty straight forward. Cheers.

this worries me as i have some et45 18x8 +20mm h&r spacers i'll be putting in next week.. looks like a lot of poke, something i dont want.
whats the tyre size?

18x8et24 is perfect up front on a mk4, then make the back 8et19 with some 205/40 all around for maximum win

Glorious difference, was a pain to get the spring compressor out to put new strut top stuff in but we got it sorted pretty quick.

Undisclosed - thanks for the info. Tyres on mine are 225 40 and they seem to look a tiny bit stretched (probably just the tyre design) so I should be fine. Pretty low. About 1 finger gap arch to tyre on 17's.

225/40 isnt stretched. its a straight side wall... anything below a 205/40 on a 8 is stretch... and lows is tucking all round on standard size tyres for a mk4

Do you have plenty of tread on your tyres? Could be related to wheel alignment ...

Gonna learn to drive with them for a bit first, don't really want to break anything driving like I used too. Waiting for some other wheel opportunities before I go too low. Painting my wheels either gloss white or gunmetal grey, have a few days of rain to decide what I want, but am very open for imput.

I'd leave them as they are, IMO not the kind of wheel that will look good painted.
