It's pretty simple really. Plenty of how to's on the internet such as:

[Mk4 Golf] Help Steering Wheel Airbag Removal Doing My Head In - Interiors - uk-mkivs

and even videos on YouTube detailing the process. (Some show removing the instrument cluster to get access to the rear of the wheel, but you shouldn't need to do that if you have a medium sized flat-blade screwdriver. You will however need a 12mm multi-point bit or similar to undo the wheel itself though.)

P.S. I disconnected the battery prior to removing the airbag just to be on the safe side.

No worries - this YouTube link shows what you're trying to do with the spring clips. (Disregard the fact the guy has trashed his wheel!)

Don't all mods make cars faster?!

(apart from R32 seats - those things weigh a tonne!)

I reckon the R32 seats weigh about the same as the recaros they are pretty heavy.
Replaced some more split coolant hoses this morning - now I wont have to top it up every morning

I'm about to do this one too, along with valve cover gasket , pulley upgrade, thermo etc etc..

How'd you find the process, which guide did you follow? Also did you torque the mount-engine bolts to 100nm like some guides suggest?

I'm allowing myself 10 hours to do it all.

                            • Timing belt kit, Ecs has one called ultimate, with Kevlar belt, lightweight pulleys, thermostat, seals, bolts.

Add all the stuff you need to cart then see what shipping is like.
