If that's the case it should read 6061 T651. 6061=grade, T6 hardened basically. That's pretty much all we use at work (6061 is tooling grade). Not the best stuff in the world to weld apparently, but having said that my mate never has any trouble with it on all the stuff i get him to weld up out of it.

I can't wait to see what you come up with. Nice to see someone doing their own thing their own way.

    • So I have been busy like a mad man. Working on my stuff and helping a few mates. I finished up the throttle body flanges and welded up the Sri extension- a mate of mine was nice enough to let me have a go at his shop. Now I just need to bead blast it and paint in BMP-but I decided to bead blast everything that was polished in the engine bay, so I already did the cooler and did it black magic pearl but the pic I took sucks. I hope to get all the small bits blasted today at my mates place and then I'll paint everything.I figured since I have to wait(10days) for my Ecu(but hey I got V2.5 software) and other parts I would tidy up the engine bay. I pickeup the back barrels a week ago for the Hre's hopefully they will will finish up the rest of the wheels soon.

                  Just Awesome! Love your work

Quick question in regards to the tune.

The remapped ecu/chip you got sent to you.

Do they set up tune to your injector & turbo size or have you built this entire turbo setup eg. turbo, injector's, exhaust sizing etc. to one of their known injector sized tunes that works spot on in the States? eg. the 550, 630cc or 800+cc file etc.

Oh yeah. More pics as always too!

I built my own setup-but i talked to Chris and Jeff at C2 and explained what turbo hardware I had and what had been done and I went with the stage 2 V2.5 550 program and Jeff tailored it so my setup.

                        Nice work.

Hopefully it all works spot on in regards to Aussie fuel & considering the climate conditions up there.

I'm sure they setup the tune in a safe way eg. timing, fueling etc. Better to be safe than 100% on the ragard edge, ping & BANG!

Well maybe its just mine that pings hard! But I like it to come on hard, so I'm really aggressive with the timing & plus its only a $50 engine too! Fire away! haha

I reckon once I build a big doller engine, I'll be a hell of alot more conservative & safe!

Look forward to seeing how it perform's!

Any chance of a quick run at Townsville raceway?

                        • I still need to do a few things- I need to work on the center grill that goes in my front bar because it contacts the one side of my cooler. So i may counter sink the cooler just a bit, I need to set the boost-My MBC doesnt seem to be working correctly so ill read up on it, I need to install a 044 inline pump, and whore myself out for a clutch and water/meth set up
