glad you ok mate very lucky buy a lotto ticket you must have nine lives and make sure you buy the car back from the insurance co and sell it to one of us for whatever is left
Well done Andy with getting away with such a shocking impact mate.
It takes a long while to enter intersections confidently after things like that happen. I had it happen many years ago in a Mk1.
Good luck for a speedy recovery mate...
Andrew
ps. We had a Patrol run a light yesterday arvo near work and got an old HR ute fair in the door. I wouldnt like to hit my head on an alloy bullbar....
**** me drunk! (and excuse the french, but I think it's warranted here!)
You did well to get out of that one alive - I can but echo the comments about good german engineering and shudder at the thought of something like that happening in a lesser car (my old Suzuki Baleno for instance)...
Looks like the other car hit the right side in front of the driver's door? Very lucky that you weren't a split-second ahead or the other driver a split-second behind...

Very lucky indeed! There's no doubt in my mind I would have died if I was hit in my drivers side door. The crash investigator told me most people don't survive a collision like that at that speed.
just wondering if your gonna stick with another mk 4 or moving up to mk 5 or 6...
Not sure to be honest. Haven't given it much thought yet. Just concentrating on recovering fully at the moment. Keen to see what the physio says about my knee. I like to mountain bike and snowboard and I want to be able to continue doing so as soon as possible. Although, I would definitely drive a Golf again, MK 4, 5, or 6. I know one thing for sure, my next car will have airbags!
EEEEEEEK! Glad you're still alive! Sorry to hear about/see it - all is not lost though. The relationship with one model has ended, ready for an upgrade to a new model...kinda like women really lol
