Best thing to do is ask the seller a question - they say it has had a "major service" recently. Just ask them if that included the belt/chain job.
Perhaps it did - then you could be on the win. If not, get a quote for the job and use it to reduce the asking price
Usually when you get the car serviced, they also give you a few pages saying what was checked and replaced etc, I could ask to see that too They say it has a full service history, so I'd assume they keep all those little things too.
With the engine having to come out for Timing belt/chain replacement, this car isn't like the Nissan 300ZX is it where everything has to come out for the smallest of jobs and the engine bay is as tight as a fishes

Sorry Loon that's not correct. V5 0-100=8.5 secs, V6 4MO 0-100=7.4 The V5 is certainly no slouch though.
Where do you get those figures from mate.
I`m certain the v5 is fater.

I would buy aither of the Boras.
They seem bullet proof, with class leading interiors, and lots of people still love their looks.
Is still a popular new car in some countries, including China,Canada where it is sold as the Cityjetta, and most countries in South and Central America, where it is sold as the Jetta 4.
Built and sold in volume in Mexico, and China.
