That is not a problem, that gets coded in the cluster with vag-com, You will need vag-com ver 5 upwards in order to get into immo3 cluster. Again go in to cluster and change the coding to the specs of your car, ie region, cylinder etc.

as for the coding of the vag tacho and the binary, it really depends on the Immo3 cluster. this part will have to be done with vag-tacho 2.5 upwards. Sometimes vag-tacho 2.2 does work. But again it depends on the immo3 cluster.

You can also recode the cluster with your cars vin number. So it makes it look al legal i guess you can call it.
Unfortunately the cylinder issue could be arranged cia coding only for car pre 2000!!Anyway i found out that there is no bother about that because everything communicates through CAN, so everything is ok!! I will procceed with change and i will tell you if everything will go right...(i hope so....))!!

you can recode pre and post 2000 clusters, it should read something like 7428 from memory.

That means it's other states, 4 cylinder, fuel usage in km/l (not L/100km) and language from memory.

Give it go and let us know.

I did a standard Immo3 Cluster upgrade in MY gti, which i have swapped out to the girlfriends GTI. Only additional function was the distance to empty. Which is a very nice feature to have i must say.

Ah, the hard-to-track down DTE setting! I need to get this put onto my Bora - ran it dry the other day - I'm used to cars having a few litres left when they say they're empty, with the Bora, empty is dry!

Had to call my father to bring a jerrycan (the servo nearby didn't have any). Much embarrassment, particularly as I had my wife and 1yo child in the car, and it was a tad warm!
        Nothing to see here...

Where is the code you mentioned (7428?)? Where i have to go to check that? I hope you do not mean software coding because mine is 03104 (5-digit code necessary)

i'll have to double checl exactly.

But fom memory after logging into the 17-cluster. Then do to adaptation.
in there you either got the 4 digit code there or you had to choose the channel to change. I sold my Mk4 GTI today, so i will have to look on the girlfriends GTI tomorrow on monday when i get a chance. than i can confirm exactly. This is all done with Vag-com Ver5 onwards.

Manaz - i'll have to find the coding, this mod i did do almost 8 months ago.
If i find the code i'll PM them to you.

All R32 clusters are IMMO 3.

Just change the softcoding to suit your car.

On my R32 it has softcode 07700 from the factory. Vary your first three digits to suit.

Our R32's here do not have the oil sensor in the sump.

You just code the cluster to have "Fixed Service interval without sensor" in the adaption channel for the service intervals, then you should not get any oil sensor warning.

If you do, then you can add this module:

                http://www.zusatzinstrumente.de/htm/togsim/prod.htm

PM if you are looking for: R32 rear sway bar; R32 suspension springs; Euro Headlight switches
