remove the whole front grill ,vw badge pops out .. sand back with some paper and paint with black spray paint.
rear is popped off using a screw driver ... becareful!!! you have to get inbetween the rubber and the body work. its a double sided taped on.
use a dremel to remove plastic buttons(they are chromed ) and badge will come off. sand and then paint. glue back on and use some double sided tape to reapply onto car.
I just painted my rear logo, well not the chrome part, the grey plastic backing black to match my car. Everything gpk gti said is correct (using the dremel etc, and hot glueing the badge back onto the backing) HOWEVER, dont use a screw driver to remove the badge, you will scratch the paint, easiest thing is to get some dental floss and run it between the paint and the badge and it pops off! Do afew coats, and use wet and dry sandpaper in between every 2 coats to get it glassy smooth, i did this 3 times doing about 6-8 light coats, now it actually looks like the colour of the car, and it is glassy as! no orange peel

so u actually remove the two vw logos then sand and spray, then glue them back on?? Starting to sound like a very easy mod
Too much effort if you ask me and unless you're confident in your painting skills, too easy to stuff up.
If I were to do it I'd just buy it from ECS or similar. Expensive yes but all depends on how you value your time.
Cheers,

umm, i took a pic, and its not that helpful really, cant see it that well because of all the reflections. i only painted the backing plate to the logo, not the actual chrome piece. it now looks like it was painted with the colour of the car originally

The other thing is I like to keep things as stock looking as possible. If I were to do it I'd also like to have the original ones so I can put it back to stock if I wish. Same as all the mods I've done so far, I still have the stock parts. The only thing I can't put back to stock without buying new parts is the going back to the old lip style over the Cupra lip.
Garage is getting cluttered but oh well.
Not telling you what to do or bagging on you or anything. Just givin my 2c as I like to do.
Either way let us know how you go.
Cheers,
Trent
