  • blocking off bov

OK so a mate said that gti's come with a bov stock, and that if you block off the bov and put a pod filter in you can make the car dose like a vl STOO STOO STOOO

anyways, i was just wondering if this would actually happen and what are the consequences

    gimP!

You would get lag when you change gear and the turbo would be put under more preasure causing it to have a shorter life .
Sounds like something you would do to a Lancer or comodore

yeah i figured that much, but with the turbo. whats the percentage of it ceasing up or shattering from trying to spin backwards.

i wanna do it 4 when i find smart asses at the light, just dose em STOO STOO STOO

i just think it would be fun to do for a couple days.

playing with your diverter valve or BOV would probably cause complications with the ECU reading air/fuel mixes.

might be worthwhile talking to a specialist before you do anything

Expect it to throw check engine light (or CEL) often as the MAP sensor isn't getting the atmo pressure it expects.
If you really want to go that way, GFP make adjustable BOV's (one manual and one electronic) that allow you to alter the recirculation and atmo venting ratio.

                      it wont dose.. only flutter..

to make it dose u gotta put your maf on your intercooler pipe, so its not in the way.. and then run piping down futrther into the guard so it actually dose's... with no Pod filter

Just leave it alone. If you want real sound, get an external wastgate and a turbo larger than an insect-like K03

As for placing a MAF in a pressurised environment, that is just asking for continuous problems...

Look like a wanker and possibly eff up things with your car in the process. Why bother?
